Although both are considered to be ‘hand produced’ the techniques are significantly different and in turn the skill level required, time frame of production, cost and longevity changes depending which method you choose.
In general a hand-tufted carpet is more affordable in comparison mainly due to the hand-knotted being a more skilled and labour intensive process. However in turn, hand-knotted carpets can achieve an heirloom status, as they can last for generations, if produced to the high SILK-AVENUE™ quality. Hand-tufted carpets will still achieve longevity; however never truly achieve heirloom status.
